Is it a bad thing that I view prepping for Dream Visions as my reward for writing up my workshopping notes? The studying is incredibly satisfying. I could spend a lot of time reading Chaucer, unpacking each poem layer by layer, following references and theories down this rabbit hole or that. In one of my classes, we read "The Pardoner's Tale" this week. The kids loved it.

I haven't climbed in over a week, and on Monday night I hurt my lower back. (sigh) I'm sore, but it's going away, so hopefully by at least Friday I'll be climbing. Though I'm feeling like I'm going to suck at it. (sigh)

I'm glad to hear that you're learning the nuances of a hot climate. I sometimes sit on the deck near sunset enjoying the breezes and then noticing that it's still 93--but the difference from the noontime 101 is so sweet. And yes, the softness of humid air.

Interesting that it was painful at first. Summer in the south is the only time my body doesn't hurt (especially previously broken bones and pulled ligaments...)
