Aww. That's how John would think, yes. Protect his kids by dying quietly in the snow. He drives me crazy, but I can't help caring about him.

And oh, Gabriel wants to keep him, doesn't he? Wants all of John there is, and wants there to be more of him than one lifetime... That's the kind of greed I empathize with. (That and candy.)
