Holy Thursday Matins tonight went about an hour and a half. You can see by the length of the services how things gradually intensify during Holy Week :-). Tomorrow it's two and a half or three hours I think (can't remember at the moment :-/ ) and come Holy Friday we get a two hour or so service followed by the vigil at the Tomb. After that things

If it helps at all, I know how you feel. This week is the week before Spring Break, so you know we turn in TONS of stuff, which means it's one of the most hectic weeks of the semester. I work every morning too. No morning Liturgy, didn't get to go to the Bridegroom services. I'm WAY bummin'. This is kind of what I figure though--the Church will be around for a while longer, and so I think I'll be able to go the all of them eventually. It's SO a lesson in humility though. "That's right, Shannon. You're not holy enough to go to those services. Do your homework."

Am I being totally irresponsible or is this one of those no win, both choices equal sad, situations?

I'm sorry :-(. What a bummer of a week. I should be grateful that at least we had spring break a couple of weeks ago instead of now, 'cause that would be crazy :-/.

I'm going to church 'cause the professor e-mailed me and said it was alright if I didn't come, but I'm still really torn. I'm not worthy of going to ANY service or of communing ever, much less at this first Divine Liturgy :-/. But I need to. O humility, why do I chase you away?

Regardless, we need to start a movement to have the Romanian holiday calendar adopted here in the States - they get two weeks around the Nativity and Pascha. Definitely the way to go :-).
