I'm awake too early...

I'm awake. I woke up forty minutes before my alarm (I'm think I'm getting old, 'cause I went to bed way too late to justify waking up before my alarm). The area of my back between my shoulder blades hearts whenever I move certain directions. Posture issues? I think so, but maybe something else is causing it. Amish and Mennonites sinzakena April 1 2007, 13:54:19 UTC
Hi Yoni,

Just read your note.

This morning was hymn sing here at Mennonite Guest House from 0900 to1000. It was beautiful four-part harmony. A couple of songs I just listened to the music while mouthing the words.

They arranged the chairs in rows facing each other. It was not separated men and women but was rather like is described in some of the Amish books (F) I have read.

Then we went to the Ngong Rd Nairobi Chapel with booming Kenya music in a tent. The sermon didn't happen as it was a bit of "their" church history lesson but none the less - overall good. I wish the pastor had taught from the scriptures rather than prepared a fund raiser. Oh Well. Enough said. It was a good swahili worship experience.

Just want you to know you are loved and prayed for.

Love,
MW

Thank you Mum! The prayer's need and the love's reciprocated :-).

I like how Amish and Hutterite lifestyles (together with the traditional Old Believer peasants' lifestyle) offers a third way between the rigorous communalism of monasticism and the complete autonomy and disconnection that most Americans seem to live in. Very appealing.

Wish I could be in Kenya with you guys! Hope your time there continues to be good. Stay safe! Get back to Ethiopia as soon as you can...
