We watched "About Schmidt" in CORE400 tonight. Very depressing. I don't like the movie at all, but it's a good warning to all of us. It hasn't helped me in my predicament about what to do next year (look for work here, go to South Korea to teach English, or the unknown question mark behind door number three), but it's a good warning nonetheless ( Read more... )

I'm surprised I haven't been patronizing considering my pride :-/, but I enjoy talking about Orthodoxy and learning more about Wesley, so feel free to grill me (just so long as it doesn't involve bright lights and a small interrogation room ( ... )

I deleted my previous comment (the one before your response) because it was poorly worded. I didn't mean it to sound the way it did. I was expressing myself out of frustrations I've had in the past, and it came across in a way that maybe was insulting to people who don't see themselves as patronizing. I didn't mean to point fingers at any particular people. My purpose was a complicated one that I'll try to figure out and sometime I might be able to properly describe in my own journal. In any case, maybe I'll see you sometime soon.
