I know where you're coming from. It's really hard living with an alcoholic. The best thing you can do for your sister is to get her set up with a local Alcoholics Anonymous group. It's the most successful program in the US, and it's completely confidential. There's also a group called Al-Anon that exists to help friends and family members of alcoholics cope. Hopefully, you can get her the help she needs soon. She has said that she wants help, and that's the most important step of all.
Also, Gurren = Fuck yeah. That show is made of drills and GAR. It's fucking amazing for reals.
Like you said, she wants to hang out with her friends with whatever time she has left with them, and this is how she does it. No, it's not healthy in the least, but it also doesn't call for diagnosing a disease. You handled the situation properly, and if you want to be a good brother just remind her (while she has the hangover of doom, I imagine) that it's possible to drink with friends without getting completely wasted and still have a good time.
You're right about me not knowing whether or not she actually IS an alcoholic. I don't know much at all about her drinking habits, but she called herself an alcoholic by name. I figure if she considers herself to be one, then for all I know, she is.
I'll be sure to mention that last bit to her though. Thanks.
