The problem with fixing yourself is that a) you don't have a maintenance manual, b) you may or may not have the right tools, and c) you can't really sue yourself for damages if something goes wrong.

What I'm getting at is, there is a difference between self-improvement and 'fixing' oneself. Self-improvement is a laudable goal and it implies you are already whole, 'fixing' implies you are broken, and if you ARE broken, well, using something broken to fix something broken doesn't do a heck of a lot of good.

Of course, you could do some jury-rigging...:)
