Hyukjae and Donghae are the perfect married couple, all their close friends say so. And even though Donghae was blinded permanently in a tragic accident, Hyukjae still loves him unconditionally. But when Hyukjae begins to behave strangely and avoid Donghae frequently without reason, Donghae begins to question his husbands affections. . .

Lee Donghae's world went dark for good three years ago. In an accident that happened in less than three minutes, he lost his eyes and the image of his husband, Lee Hyukjae, forever. Donghae could still remember the first year after it happened. He ran into things all the time, hurt himself on innocent objects, and fell into a seemingly endless depression. Hyukjae was always there for him however. Whenever Donghae ran into something, Hyukjae would walk him around it over and over until he memorized where it was. Whenever he hurt himself, Hyukjae would sit him down and ice his bruise, or bandage his cut. And whenever Donghae felt like he couldn't go on anymore, Hyukjae turned off all the lights, curled up on the couch with him cradled against his chest, and held him while he cried. During those times he would say, “Now we're both blind.”

Donghae could still remember waking up without his eyes for the first time. He remembered immediately beginning to cry, because he just knew that he had lost his sight. Hyukjae was there right away, holding both his hands and kissing each fingertip tenderly before leaning forward to kiss his forehead as well. The Hyukjae said, “I'll be your eyes. I’ll be the light in your dark world. Just hang on to me.” Donghae never forgot those words. Even after three years, when his memories of colors and sunlight had long faded, he still remembered like it was yesterday.

Donghae smiled as they went through his head again, his fingers gently stroking the wide expanse of skin on his husband's back. He knew that Hyukjae was still asleep judging by his even breathing, so he took his time tracing the faint outlines of his muscles, memorizing again the body he already knew so well. Hyukjae always slept late after a long night of love-making, and always looked forward to waking up to the featherlight touches across his skin, so Donghae made a point of waking up before him to give him the small luxury. Since he couldn't do much for him, he liked to make sure he enjoyed the simple pleasures like this. Hyukjae always said that the small things Donghae did for him, like this, or like how he was always at the door when Hyukjae got home after a tiresome day of work to greet him with a hug and kiss.

Donghae was pulled from his thoughts as he heard a quiet hum from beside him, and he rolled over onto his side to nuzzle his face into Hyukjae's arm as he awoke slowly. “Mmmm I love it when you do that...” He mumbled, turning to wrap his arms around Donghae's waist and pull him closer.

Donghae smiled and pressed a small kiss over the mole he knew was on Hyukjae's collarbone. “I know.” He whispered, smiling against Hyukjae's lips as he kissed him gently. “That's why I do it.” Donghae raised his hand up to his lover's face after he pulled his lips away and enjoyed the smoothness of his skin, giving himself a mental picture of Hyukjae's face through his fingertips. He closed his eyes and hummed in happiness as he finished and snuggled into Hyukjae's embrace again. “You always feel so beautiful in the morning.”

He chuckled. “Just in the morning?”

Donghae laughed. “No, always.” Hyukjae kissed him again before releasing him and rolling out of bed, making his way to the bathroom as he rolled his sore shoulders. He loved the soreness of a night with Donghae, he loved being reminded of him throughout the day while he was slaving away at his office.

“Do you want me to make you something while you're in the shower?” Donghae asked quietly, his hand placed carefully on the wall next to the door as he stood there, looking all adorable with the sheet wrapped around him, hair tousled, causing Hyukjae to smile lovingly.

“No, I’ll pick up something on the way, come in with me.” He held out his hand to Donghae in offering, lightly brushing the tips of his fingers over the hand that held the sheet in place so he knew it was there.

A blush colored his cheeks at the request. “But you'll be late to work if I come in with you.” Nonetheless, he didn't object when Hyukjae took his hand and pulled him into the bathroom, the sheet falling forgotten to the floor. “Last time Eeteuk-ssi scolded you for coming in late..”

Hyukjae nuzzled the juncture between Donghae's neck and shoulder as he reached out and turned on the hot water. “I don't care.” He murmured, smiling when Donghae draped his arms around his neck. “I want to have you for breakfast.” Donghae blushed even redder at that and whimpered softly when Hyukjae nipped at his throat, pulling him into the shower with him and pressing him up against the wall.

“H-Hyukjae..” Donghae gasped. “N-No, stop!” He broke off into a moan as Hyukjae slipped a hand between his thighs, stoking his member to life and nibbling his neck with a hum of pleasure. Donghae cried out when Hyukjae suddenly thrust two fingers inside him, his hole already being stretched from the night before. “Hyukjae!”

“Mmm?” Hyukjae mumbled, removing his fingers already and kissing Donghae's lips, his tongue darting into the smaller man's mouth.

Donghae moaned into the kiss, his eyes closing as he finally gave in and wrapped his arms around his husband's neck, pressing his body closer. “Hyukjae, please...” He groaned between kisses. “More...”

Hyukjae chuckled, leaning down to flick at Donghae's left nipple with his tongue, drawing a pleasured cry from his lips. “Oh?” He said, tugging on the pink nub with his teeth and smiling at the wanton moan that resulted. “Not going to fight back anymore?”

Donghae could barely think straight through the warm haze that clouded his brain, the steaminess of the room only adding to his lust. Wanting Hyukjae as soon as possible, he succumbed to the feeling and lifted up his leg, hooking his knee around the other's hip and grinding against his arousal, rolling his body over Hyukjae's slowly. “Hyukjae...” Donghae moaned in his ear, loving the shiver that racked the body of his lover. “Please, fuck me...”

Hyukjae groaned at the sexiness radiating off of his husband, quickly spinning him around and bending him forward. “Ugh, Donghae, you're too much...” He growled, placing his hands on Donghae's hips and holding him in place as he pushed his erection deep inside him, both of them moaning in union as they came together. Donghae gasped and clawed at the tiles, his legs shaking as he was overwhelmed with immense pleasure.

“A-Ahh! Hyukkie, move!” He begged, crying out as Hyukjae pulled out and thrust back in hard, Donghae's body jerking forward as their hips clashed together. Hyukjae set a fast pace, beginning to pull Donghae's hips back against him each time he thrust forward, maximizing the force of his thrusts. Donghae's moans were like music to Hyukjae's ears as he leaned down to lick and kiss the back of his shoulders, grunting as he continued to pleasure him. This action changed the angle of Hyukjae's thrusts, sending him pounding straight into Donghae's prostate and eliciting a scream from his mouth. “AH! THERE Hyukjae, THERE!!” He cried, throwing his head back as the pleasure continued to build until he felt as if he was about to explode.

“H-Hyukkie!” He moaned, his thighs trembling with the effort of holding his body up. “I'm c-close! Haa, ahh!” In an effort to get his release sooner, Donghae began to push back against Hyukjae's hips, moaning with each of his thrusts as they became erratic with lust. “I-I'm going to c-cum!” He cried, his back arching into Hyukjae's chest.

“M-Me too,” Hyukjae groaned, wrapping his arms tightly around Donghae's waist as he thrust into the pliant body with all his might, losing himself in the welcoming heat and biting down on his shoulder.

Donghae cried out. “H-Hyukjae!!” He screamed as he finally released, the force of his orgasm causing his entire body to spasm and clench around Hyukjae's member, milking an orgasm out of him as well. Hyukjae moaned loudly as he rode out his release, thrusting into Donghae a few more times as they both came down from their high. “H-Haa..” Donghae gasped shakily as Hyukjae pulled out of him, leaving him feeling empty and cold.

Hyukjae breathed deeply as he gently pulled Donghae around and hugged him tightly, nuzzling his face into the wet brown hair. “Mmmm, Donghae...” He smiled, pulling back to look upon the beautiful, tired face of his husband. “I love you.”

Donghae smiled breathlessly, holding Hyukjae's arms. “I love you too.” He whispered, but then he pushed away and felt along the wall for the shampoo bottle. “But now we should actually shower, you'll be late for work at this rate.” Hyukjae pouted, but his pout disappeared immediately as Donghae squirted some shampoo into his palm and then reached out to feel for Hyukjae's hair. Smiling, he moved his head in the path of Donghae's hand and practically purred as he began to knead his scalp gently.

“I love it when you wash my hair for me.” He mumbled, slipping his arms around the smaller man's waist. Donghae chuckled and nodded, a peaceful smile adorning his face as he stared unseeingly at Hyukjae's chest. Hyukjae found his eyes straying to the scars around Donghae's eyes as he rinsed his hair, and the familiar feeling of guilt and regret filled his heart.

It was his fault Donghae had gone blind. It happened on Christmas Eve, a day which had lost all its appeal in their house since. Hyukjae was supposed to stop by the store on his way home from work for a bottle of wine for their dinner, since him and Donghae liked to spend the holiday alone together, but he was held up at work because there was a report due the next day, so he would be a bit late. When he called Donghae to let him know, his sweet husband was completely understanding and he volunteered to walk down and get some since the store wasn’t very far, and despite Hyukjae's assurance that he would get it on his way back, Donghae insisted, and so he went out. That night, the roads were icy, and snow was falling slowly, and while Donghae was walking, one of the cars on the road lost traction.

Donghae was hit by the car when it skidded off the road, starting a fire as the engine exploded. When he hit the ground, he bumped his head and was in a coma for several weeks.

When he woke up, he had lost his eyesight.

Hyukjae had never stopped blaming himself for what happened. Not for one single day. And he had spent every day since the accident making it up to Donghae, even though Donghae himself was too much of a sweetheart to ever accuse Hyukjae of being at fault.

Donghae blinked, distracted from rinsing his own hair as he heard Hyukjae sigh softly, so softly that even his adept ears could hardly pick it up. “What's wrong Hyukjae?” He asked, reaching out to feel for Hyukjae's body. Warm hands took his and Hyukjae pulled up his right hand to kiss his knuckles.

“Nothing is wrong babe.” Hyukjae said, smiling against Donghae's skin so he would know.

But Donghae knew him too well, and he could hear the sadness in his voice that he tried so desperately to hide. “Don't lie to me.” Hyukjae said nothing, but heaved another sigh. “Are you thinking about the accident again?”

“Yes.”

Donghae frowned as he reached to turn the water off, and Hyukjae opened the shower door and led him out, carefully so Donghae wouldn't slip. “It wasn't your fault Hyukjae. I wish you would stop blaming yourself.”

“You always say that.” Hyukjae laughed, trying to lift the mood. “Don't worry about me Hae, I'm alright.”

“If you say so.” Donghae said reluctantly, pouting cutely as Hyukjae towel-dried his hair for him.

“I do say so.” Donghae smiled and dried himself off slowly, listening for Hyukjae as he exited the bathroom and opened up his drawers. When he was done he carefully made his way over to the dresser as well and opened up the drawer that held his jeans and boxers, pulling them on before closing it again and opening the one with his white t-shirts. Usually he didn’t care which one he grabbed, but today he was feeling like a specific one, and he couldn't find it with his fingers. He turned towards Hyukjae.

“Hyuk?” He called softly. Hyukjae who was choosing a tie hummed in acknowledgment. “Can you find me my favorite v-neck? I don't know which one It is.”

Hyukjae turned around from his tie rack and went over to Donghae, pecking him on the cheek before searching and pulling it out for him. “Here sweetheart.” He smiled, placing it in his hands.

“Thank you.” Donghae said quietly as he pulled it on over his head. Hyukjae couldn’t resist checking out his sexy husband, whistling appreciatively at how it hugged Donghae's trim waist and his muscular torso. Donghae smiled. “Hyukjae, let me tie your tie.” He said smugly, taking hold of the ends and smiling when he recognized the texture. “I like this one.” He said absently, expertly fixing the tie to look pristine before smoothing down the collar of his dress-shirt and then the tops of his shoulders.

“I know, that's why I picked it.” Hyukjae said with a grin, pulling Donghae to him to give him a loving kiss.

Donghae giggled as Hyukjae started showering him with kisses, holding him tighter when Donghae playfully tried to push him away. “Oh, get out of here!” Donghae laughed, pushing gently on Hyukjae's face, both of them grinning. “You're late already!”

“Yeah yeah, I’m going mom.” Hyukjae said cheekily, grabbing his suit jacket as he made his way to the door, Donghae trailing after him like a love-struck puppy, which, in reality, wasn’t so far from the truth. “I might be a little late tonight, I have to finish up putting together a presentation for next week so it can get approved, don't wait up.”

Donghae nodded and stopped at the door as Hyukjae did as well to put on his shoes. “Alright, I was thinking of going out today with Sungmin and Ryeowook, I’ll call you when I leave.” Donghae said the words carefully, knowing they would worry Hyukjae.

As expected, Hyukjae stopped and turned around to face him, reaching out to grab his hand and bring it up to his face. “Would you call me when you get back too?” He asked in a vulnerable voice. Donghae could fell his sadness through his face, how his brow drooped slightly at the edges and his mouth tensed up in worry.

He nodded and smiled reassuringly. “Of course, the second I get back.” Donghae leaned forward and kissed Hyukjae chastely, moving his fingers off the other man's plump lips at the last second. “Have a good day, drive safely.”

Hyukjae nodded and kissed him once more on the forehead, then the cheek, making his husband smile sweetly, which in turn caused him to smile. “I will, be careful when you go out. I love you sweetheart.”

“Love you too.” Donghae replied as Hyukjae closed the door quietly. After he was gone, Donghae made his way into the living room and turned on the radio, listening to the music as he walked to the kitchen and felt around on the island for an apple out of the basket of fruit in the middle before starting the daily chores. He did laundry, mostly Hyukjae's, making sure not to mix the colors basket with the whites one, and sat on the living room floor while he folded, separating his work clothes from his casual clothes before putting it away. He also removed the dirty sheets from the bed and the bathroom floor and started the washing machine, as well as straightening up Hyukjae's drawers, because he knew the man would get frustrated if they got sloppy.

However, when he finished ahead of schedule, and had nothing to do but sit on the couch and listen to music, he was lonely. This was what Donghae hated the most about being blind. When he was lonely, he couldn't really do anything. He couldn’t watch TV, he couldn’t take the bus to the gym because it was dangerous by himself, and worst of all, he couldn’t go visit Hyukjae at work. He used to go visit him at least once a week before the accident. Now, he only got to go when he could talk one of their friends into going with him. He was lonely without Hyukjae. After being married for five years, having made it official right out of high school, he still couldn’t get tired of spending time with his beloved husband. When he was with Hyukjae, Donghae felt safe, happy, and contented. But when he was gone, their apartment lost its warmth. It became just a house. It wasn’t home without Hyukjae.

Donghae sighed and fell back on the couch, stretching out and yawning. “I guess I could take a nap until Sungmin and Ryeowook get here.” He said to himself, pulling a blanket off the back of the couch and covering himself with it. At that moment he heard the clock in the kitchen announce the hour in an electronic voice.

“Nine. O'clock. Nine. O'clock.”

He closed his eyes. Hyukjae would probably get home around six today.

Nine hours to go.
