Sometimes, the Scientific Method cracks me up: the fact that you needed a control can of Coke just to prove that the temperature wouldn't fall of its own accord is just hilarious to me, even though I understand why it is so.

Since there are no photos of a wrecked board I guess it made it to school in one piece. Very scientific looking I must say.

yes--but only because i would've hated to see all my his hours and hours of work go to waste. :)

and many, many thanks for helping to make the whole project palatable!

Now that he knows how to rapidly cool your drinks I think he should help mom off her feet and bring her a rapidly cooled one :)

or later, since it is like you know the morning there :)

You child is adorable and cute. I don't know you or your child but I think that's really my loss. He has done a great project. I liked it and I wouldn't have think that water with ice and water with ice and salt would do a better cooling-job as a refrigerator, or a freezer. I'm surprised. And thanks a lot for sharing those informations. I like to know those stuff.

i'm glad someone learned something--because i'm not at all sure he did! and the way i'm feeling towards the Kid right now, i'd be more than happy to box him up and ship him to you!

*smile* give him enough Coke and some food into the box. So he can survive on his way to me.
I think at least he learned to close the freezer. Some adults don't do that.
Hm, if you want give him a hug from me.

just look at that graph, created wholly by mommy's little fingers at 0540 this-freakin'-morning. and i made, oh, half a dozen mistakes. in ink. that i then had to cover with wee scraps of glued-on white paper. gee--i hope it doesn't lower my grade!

OMG - 5.40, oh, that's just awful! And mistakes in ink, ouch - this whole project sounds like a nightmare now...

That looks great. The layout's excellent and it's very readable (an important plus in a science project, since it has to be viewed from a slight distance).

If it's any consolation, he may eventually learn from the Science Project Weekend Freak-Out Experience not to put things off to the last minute. My son, whose disorganization was simply legendary among his teachers, did learn that.

i asked him this morning if he'd learned anything from this experience. his response? 'yes, ma'am. because of my crappy attitude, and because you wound up putting the board together, i'm on my own for the social studies fair.'

right answer. perceptive kid.

That answer is ... yeah, totally correct, and also very funny. You know -- because it's not my kid.
