I felt so sorry for both of them, but at least they have each other and it seems that Wilson only can count on two things too.
Great story!

Yesterday I was resigned to that ending, it was very sad but something I saw as possible. Moreover, in House's mind, clouded by pain and self-deprecation, it was something he was inclined to think, that Wilson would, sooner or later, leave him. But, as I said yesterday, it was heartbreaking.
So I'm very glad you wrote this epilogue, ending on a more hopeful note.

oh, yes! the things that uncontrolled physical pain, and the resultant mental exhaustion, can do to the mind are devastating. so yeah--i stand by the... brutality and truth... of the first portion--but also by the sweet relief of the epilogue!

*hugs House* (can't hug one without the other, unless the other has done something really stupid)
*cries*
Rereads....
House wearily opens his eyes, meets Wilson's.
It hurts.
I know.
But neither man has spoken.
*cries again*
Thanks for another great one :)

Three Stages of Masochism. Disbelief; he’s good at that. Hurt; stayed longer than usual in that one today. Thought he’d never get to Anger.
The Three stages were great. I love the idea that House pushes Wilson towards anger so that he'll leave, but Wilson is far too stubborn and far too loving to ever really leave. :)
