Title: Life Line Characters: House, Wilson Rating: G Genre: Angst, hurt/comfort Words: 950 Summary: It's the middle of the night, and Wilson takes an important phone call.
Oh! That was just so sweet! I really like how Wilson grabs the journal to help with making up a case. GAH! Wilson is just too good to House. Can I call him the next time I have trouble sleeping (and that happens all too often lately)?
Yeah, I saw that when I went back and re-read it (the second, or third time ;^)?) Did I miss that, or did you add it later? Anyway, really great story, and I DO want my own Wilson.....
went back and added it after a couple of the reviews over at the pit also asked what was wrong with him. i'd figured everyone would know, that it was implied in "third time this month" and in wilson's thoughts about house lying there, not getting up for fluids, and in the sounds wilson was listening for as house tried to walk--but i was wrong! ;) oh well, clearer now!
i'm so sorry-i'd love to answer you in an eloquent manner, befitting a serious author, but i'm sitting here giggling so hard over your user icon that i can't type straight! :)
Awesome :) I was thinking panic attack until I noticed in a comment you said it was his leg bothering him. For some reason I just see House as the perfect candidate for panic attacks, and being stubborn enough to try to hide them. There is a fic in that somewhere, but it seems to refuse to come out the end of my pencil or through my keyboard.
Oh no, you did nothing wrong with this fic, it was wonderful :) Having personal experiences with panic attacks and annoying friends in the wee hours of the morning looking for a distraction from my own mind, that was my first impression of what was wrong with House. I just never made the leap from his call to him being in pain because he often does try to hide that and when he has to go to someone about it, it usually isn't pretty (like the scene where he asked Cuddy for the morphine shot, or forging a scrip).
there's a part of my abandoned story (what the winter brings, abandoned because it's 86 pages long unformated, and i never formated it, and i don't have time to go through and format 86 pages when i have better stories that havent even been written yet floating in my head.) wherein house is detoxing and gets a panic attack while on a cot in wilson's office while chase and foreman are watching him, and he is having much worse than usual leg pain.
i'll post it...soon...
(if i can't bring myself to spend hours formatting, i'll just post the panic attack part...)
(above is most likely outcome....)
but i think there might me a whole separate story too...
