Fascinating to watch. Amazing stage presence. I like the dance shout-outs to Michael Jackson, James Brown, Elvis Presley, etc. Not vocally stunning, but good.

the opening refrain is the same tune as the pinball counting song on sesame street ("one two three four five, six seven eight nine ten, eleven twelve...")

this was a cool video.

Well, I'd been struggling to remember her name the past few days for some reason and googled any permutation of "women black pompadour singer" I could think of. It panned out, and I found this. Have you seen the anime movie Metropolis? This takes liberally from that. You can find interviews where she talks about the inspiration for this video and how she's releasing her music in suites and the backstory of Cindi Mayweather (the performer robot who she describes as kind of an alter ego for her) and all that stuff. Really interesting and fun.

yo, i saw her a month ago in portland for free with tickets Clinton got through the doug fir email list sign up thingy. we went and enjoyed her music and stage presence a bunch :)
