I love otakin wank, it's my favorite. I also wonder what all these people claiming to be Cloud (Sephiroth's another big one) have to say about all the OTHER people claiming to be the same character.
Also how can you consider yourself Japanese and Cloud? >_> I'm confusing myself.

The only particular beef I have is with considering oneself a member of a culture one has never been a part of. It seems ignorant.

As for 'soulbonding', I have heard writers use a similar term to describe a bond with their fictional characters. It's something like having imaginary friends. Frankly, this person sounds more like Otherkin, persons who believe themselves to have an animal spirit. I find that these persons tend to anthropomorphize to some degree.

Aside from the potential for complete and utter cultural ignorance, I see no harm.
