Hey guys. What have you been up to? I feel like I'm sleeping (or could be sleeping) all day long, for about two days now, and it begins to resemble hibernation. Can't afford the luxury, though. It's still holidays week, but I have work, believe it or not, so I had to pull myself together and well, do it. *yawn* You'd think I've been doing some hard ( Read more... )

why kiana, personal log, talk to me, i'm in deep, good things do happen, awesome friends

I resisted Sherlock for as long as I could, but once I gave in...

Lets just say Christmas was pretty easy for me this year because pretty much everyone I knew got the first series on DVD. :)

Other than that? Life is nicely boring after the busyness of the holidays.

I tried to remember how I started watching it and I couldn't. No regrets. :D

Hey, boring is good sometimes too. ;)

Sadly holidays are over. Guess this means we have to look forward to the next one...which will be...hm...March 17! Nearly 3 months! YIKES!

Loved the new Sherlock too. Was an excellent episode. I liked the film as well, maybe even more than the first one but the really brilliant thing was bbc Sherlock...seriously...how will they be able to live up to this kind of greatness?

:)

I don't know, but I'm looking forward the next episode. The Hound of the Baskervilles has always been one of my favourite SH stories, so I'm really curious about how they span that one. ;)

Yesss, Sherlock, do come over to the Sherlock-y side, you need a new fandom anyway ;-)

Oh man, I do know what you mean about correcting the voice-overs on TV. Although in my case it's more correcting Polish subtitles made for tv shows and put online, which I then watch with my non-English speaking SO. Most of it is really good actually, and yet I have to really stop myself from taking notes and then going online to edit the stuff they got wrong. By which I mean I used to do that for some shows, and the compulsion is still so freaking strong. But even I know doing that in my free time is just unhealthy. But god, the urge is there!

I live under a rock, so I missed that Eoin Macken bruhaha until now. Uck.

You can say you got crazy gifts and then not say what they were. That's plain cruel.

I love Sherlock, it's smart, sexy, and classy. I don't think I'll ever write for it, though, or read for that matter. I really enjoy watching it, though. Dunno how to explain it.

I'm pretty sure I live in a cave, but apparently it made too much noise. >.<

LOL. Sorry, I truly didn't mean to tease. Among other things, I got a really expensive phone I didn't know I wanted, and a very nice handbag. I'm being spoiled this year for some reason. *g*

Dunno how to explain it.

Ahh, it's one of those shows. Actually, most shows I like are like that for me, so I get it. It's a pity though :)

Those are cool gifts. Your family must like you or something ;)

I've just had a glance at the Polish Sherlock subtitles and folded like a napkin. They didn't get the references to story titles! And other stuff! I'll be over there with my notepad, proofing. I only wish I were doing it for the human kind, not my overweight ego...

They don't actually like me all that much. Love is blind, though. ;)

I don't think it's about ego. I dunno. I just -- when I watch something and enjoy it, I want people to enjoy it the way I do, and I can't see it happening without them understanding it as well as me. I spent 5 minutes back then trying to explain the whole 'I am SHERlocked' thing. I know that translating things is really hard sometimes, like translating 'the woman' to a language that doesn't have articles and therefore the word loses one layer of meaning. I know that it's hard and sometimes it's objectively impossible. But they lie at other times, too, -- when they don't need to. And it annoys me to no end. >__<
