Exactly my thoughts( I've never been so upset because of Merlin's actions. I was sitting the whole episode with a wtf expression on my face. The way the writers tried to make the whole Arthur-under-spell trope funny and the way Merlin enjoyed the whole thing freaked me the hell out. It's like writers are trying to prove that magic does corrupt. I don't know, I feel really sad and disturbed about this whole business :(

Yes, precisely. This wasn't a friendly dickish moment like in Goblin's Gold, where Merlin left Arthur brayin for one more day. This was a spell that gave him *total control* over Arthur. Was it supposed to show that Merlin would only abuse this power as far as to make Arthur wash the dishes? I dunno, maybe. It does make it a little better, but the whole thing still stinks.
Also, I know it was supposed to be funny, but I had to make myself watch. Too sensitive? Maybe. But that was actually terrible. If you think about it, really think about it, it was a terrible thing to do. And I can't, in good conscience, see Merlin enjoying himself in a situation like this. Accepting it as a necessity, yes. Enjoying it? No.
Thank everything I'm not the only one who sat there cringing throughout the entire time Arthur was enchanted. Gah.
