For all that you ramped up my blood pressure with the UST in the last chapter, this one has just turned me into a big puddle of goo. *chin hands*
I really like your jump-cut writing, and taking us to an entirely new day, scene and source of frustration is a great device for this one. Handsome Vulcan aside, Jim still has a business to run after all, people to employ, and booze to collect. I work at a distillery myself, so have to smile at the way you describe bar work/life. It's great!
The exchange with Gaila was wonderful, and I was nodding all the way through this:
"your Earth women are hopeless - they know nothing about how their bodies work, and it’s so sad, Jimmy. They won’t even use their own heritage, and I mean, some of that yoga is downright amazing. Every girl should be able to make her body sing; this ignorance is scary."And then you go ahead and throw in a Princess Bride reference. Seriously. Marry me, we'll find somewhere that it's legal
