Oh crap! I'm so sorry. Three of my friend's partners have all been made redundant recently. It's such a horrible situation.

I hope he finds work soon!

Well, they let a bunch of their own staff go a couple of months ago. So it figures it was the freelancers turn next - he's not to the only one.

Things in the newspaper industry are very tough here - advertisers have less money, the papers only sell for a quid or so anyway, and it's one of the first cutbacks people make when money is tight...
