This same BS went around last year when the stamp first came out. A friend of my mom's sent it to me and I freaked out. I resisted the urge to respond with what I felt was an appropriate amount of indignation, mostly because it would have largely been lost on her. It still pissed me off though.
Exactly. I could not (and would not) blast my mom-in-law for sending it to me, cause I know she wasn't being vindictive or anything, and she probably didn't look any further than the initial message of "they did these bad things, look what our country is coming to" kind of thing. I don't know. I emailed her back with the Snopes link and merely mentioned that it wasn't a Christmas stamp, and left it at that. She's a smart, smart lady and will figure out the rest. :)
REMEMBER the American bombing of the Federal Building in Oklahoma.
Like you, I agree with the single sentence, all that is required for evil to triumph is for good people to say nothing.
It is a shame we are all so terribly scared of each other that we can't use our heads.
Though I am a member of an organized religion, I was taught that my sect of my religion (Reform Judaism) requires you to think and question and not blindly accept. I like finding my way in the world. I don't want someone telling me what to think or, quite frankly, how to live.
As for the stamp, people should buy it or not. I don't because I don't have enough Muslim friends that get holiday cards from me. But Eid means holiday. People really need to get over themselves.
