that could also apply to movies and things, though. i think the awesome thing about reading is that when you're watching something, you're pretty much just sitting and staring. reading is an active process where you do the work, and everything can change depending on you, and if the writer's good enough, you sometimes have those moments where you just stop and freeze in amazement because something just blew you away.

I know, when you're reading you're completely alone with that character. You're in their mind, in their conscious and you know them, sometimes better than you know anyone else. And I love it when you're amazed by something and you're just blown away and you just try to fathom what's happened but you can't. And I also love/hate it when something happens that you don't want it to but you understand why it had to happen and what it meant. ♥

The whole point of reading literature for me is to gain a better understanding of what it is like to be human. To make mistakes and learn from them. To be that person I always imagine myself being. To learn to forgive and let go. And to love. in a completely unselfish and pure way.

But I agree, they take the mind to places you can't explain, to places you've never been before but never want to leave. They're like our friens that never leave us. <3333
