"Nothing," declared Bishop as he threw the offending hand of cards on the table. "Perhaps this game is not as fun as you insisted." He gave Gambit a withering look which the Cajun ignored with his usual charm.

"Mon ami, don't you trust me?" Gambit grinned, not at all innocently, as he scooped up the assorted pile of candy from the center of the table.

"Only as far as I c'n throw ya," Cannonball muttered as he watched the last of his Skittles disappear into Gambit’s horde. "An trus' me, that ain't far enough."

Logan just smiled around his cigar.

"Perhaps another game might prove more," Hank searched for a neutral word, "entertaining."

"I just want my sour patch kids back." Bobby glared at Logan, who kept smiling. Logan's pile of candy wasn't quite as impressive as Gambit's, but it was close enough. Oddly, it seemed to consist mainly of sour patch kids.

"Der is always Seven-card Stud," Gambit had a disturbing twinkle in his eye that Logan mirrored. Bobby and Cannonball glared harder.

"How about Go Fish?" Jean suggested as she entered followed by Storm and several armloads of shopping bags.

"NO TELEPATHS!" the table objected, in chorus.

"Glad to know I'm loved." Jean rolled her eyes as she opened the plastic shopping bags she had been caring. "Anyone need refills?" The reply was instantaneous and rather loud. The bags were quickly distributed around the table, with the two obvious exceptions.

"I think you have plenty." Jean said as Gambit did his best impersonation of innocence. Logan didn't even try, he just kept smiling at Bobby. Jean gave him a measuring look and then decided it wasn't worth interfering. "Alright, since you don't want 'my kind' around, I'll be off." She gathered the empty bags and headed back out the door.

"Telepaths." grumbled Bishop, as he sorted through his newly bestowed horde of jawbreakers.

"So we switch to Go Fish?" Gambit asked, as he reached for another deck.

The rest of the group shrugged, anything was better than poker.

"Are we playin' pairs o' four, or pair's o' two?" Canonball asked, as he caught the cards tossed his way.

"Two pair." Storm suggested, waiting to look at the cards until the Cajun finished dealing.

Gambit shrugged, either way, that candy was his.
