The Law of the Jungle (X-Men)

NOTE: These are writings from 1997, which means they are over a decade old. Thus they lack a certain- hmm, 'polish?', but they are also fond memories of my days on alt.comics.fan-fiction and I wouldn't trade them for the world. ^_^

The Law of the Jungle
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now this is the Law of the Jungle
The law of the night-darkend streets
Of a world where the slightest of stumbles
Gives way to the pain of defeat
In a world where the smallest of mumbles
Betrays yer not one of the sheep
Now this is the Law of the Jungle
Passed down from the ancient to young
Of tricks, and of silence, and cunning
And places to hide on the run
Of what ye must do if they're coming
And why ye must do it, my son
Now this is the Law of the Jungle
What Man fears, is not always Man
And always the humans are tempted
To kill what they can't understand
Some kill for the pleasure of killing
So seven times never trust Man!
Now this is the Law of the Jungle
As old and as true as the sky
And the wolf that may keep it shall prosper
And the wolf that may break it shall die
Be ye telepath, precog, or 'caster
May ye throw cards and lightning or fly...
