of stereotypes and archetypes

First rant ever; I hope I don't come across as too obnoxious or anything. Warning: Organisation-centric ranting, sesquipedalian loquaciousness, general rambling, and Lv9 wall of text. Apologies in advance!

**EDITED. I'm a failure and don't really know how to post properly on LJ, resulting in a good half of my post being eaten. That, and I should ( Read more... )

This post makes me feel like I need an icon of Marluxia smirking like the bamf he is and looking at his nails after having just buffed him on his coat.

Just sayin'.

Yes. Yeees. Marluxia is an awesome bamf and would unleash a can of whoop-ass on whoever underestimates him due to his pink hair. Because only real men wear pink.

And after he's done with that, he'll probably stroll off to torment some other poor sap.

What is it with the crazed fangirls and ignorning the more obviously masculine-looking members of the Organisation?

No idea. One of my friends tends to hate the non-femme ones, but I just go, "C'mon! Xigbar! Luxord, for God's sake!"

I will admit that I have thought Xaldin hot at various points, so you are not alone.

One can hardly trawl FF.Net without being assaulted by an entire page of Akuroku or Zemyx, with little to no mention of other characters such as Xaldin, Vexen, Lexaeus, or Luxord. Or, if any, they're either unfortunately OOC, or possess extremely one-track minds. Wryyyy.

He may be a jerkass, but you can't ignore that musculature and that curiously-accented but nonetheless compelling voice. I take great comfort in knowing I'm not the only one who thinks so!

Xaldin is totally hot, and it's all thanks to that sexy voice of his.

I've always preferred Luxord, Xaldin, Marluxia, Saix, and Luxord to the others in terms of hotness.

And Lexaeus is awesome. I love to write from his POV! And Zexion's evil manipulative side is also fun.

I don't understand why half of the Organization is ignored.

Indeed! I admit to being taken aback when I first heard it, but it really grows on you. Ffff, it gives me more than enough reason to keep watching his cutscenes over and over to hear him speak. <3

Ahahah, yeah :'D I have to agree with your lineup of favourites, though for me, Saix takes the cake, followed closely by Xaldin, Luxord, Marluxia and, oh what the heck, Xemnas. He's just so enigmatic and intriguing.

He is, isn't he? A shame he didn't get more screentime. I'd love to know what makes him tick. Zexion should be written as he is, smug, arrogant, manipulative and Machivellian.

Neither can I; regardless, it's a shame, isn't it? That has got to be remedied.

There's a reason ff.net is called the pit. XDIt's home to 90% of the crappiest writing in this fandom, with an occaisionaly splorge coming out of Deviantart. Why? Because those sites are popular. Everyone knows you post fanfic on the Pit, and most people who've fooled around with DA for a while have run into fic there, too. Livejournal doesn't advertise itself that way.

But word on the rest of your rant. And don't feel put off about your characterization by us - most of the people here are on a hair trigger for stupid after years in the fandom.

Well yes, but there's still that glorious 10% which makes it oh-so-worth it. Almost. The other day I stumbled across a Xaldin/Alice (crack, yes, AU, yes) oneshot which was so utterly heartbreakingly beautiful, it made up for all the oodles of noodles of badfic lurking around. Though digging for gems through all the rubbish is such a pain, lmao.

It's hard not to be put-off, because there's much to be learnt from these rants. I constantly fear for the day I unleash one of those hair-trigger wtf-dars, haha.

Marluxia is so buff you can SEE HIS MUSCLES THROUGH HIS COAT. Dude. And he has a voice worth drooling over.

So glad I'm not the only one who heard Marluxia's voice and went vaguely squiggly on the inside.

I admit I was guilty of falling into that trap when I first got into the fandom. "OH YE GODS PINK HAIR HE MUST BE A FRUITCAK-- duuude, his voice!"

Marluxia is just so drool-over-able. Like fo' srs.

I'd like to rant about everyone eventually ; u ; Horrible, I know. But then and again, everybody deserves in-character love, regardless of how they're portrayed for a measly few seconds!

Ahahaha, highfive to that. Five times and counting, and I can't help but play it over and over for the dialogue. There's much delicious characterisation to be picked up from their interactions! Not to mention, all those missions in Beast's Castle has given me Xaldin plunnies.

They all are~ ;)

Ah, well, everyone needs to have their characterisation ranted about. It's so tiresome to see wibblybffl!Axel, wangsty-weepy!Roxas, and, yes, stupid!Sora, all the time, everytime, everywhere. Gah. They all deserve better :/

They did indeed! To be completely honest, 358/2 was the first ever KH game I played shoot me now lmao but even so, it's great stuff. I'm afraid to say that I don't really see what some people are whingeing about, what with them not liking how so-and-so's-character-was-ruined, boo-hoo-hoo. Gotta learn to adapt, after all.
