Heh. The silliness one can find on DA. To paraphrase some darling girl's OC:
"Roxas is mine! So Kairi, Xion, Naminé- back off!"

It really depends what the OCs are like, I think in some cases it's even ok to pair and OC with a canon character. Though I wonder if I tend to cut people some slack because I come up with OCs all the time.
I'm working on some art of a few KH OCs right now. A key bearer, her entourage, and a Princess of Heart from the distant past.

I agree. I mean, I know of a couple of OCs who have gotten along, romantically or otherwise, with canons, but this... Just seems a bit off. Bad feeling is bad.
I tend to avoid making too many genuine OCs in the fandom (although do human forms of the Lessers count? 8D; ) because I'm usually in the fanfiction/art/roleplay for the canon characers, not to see OCs drool over them or steal the spotlight because they're so speshul. Of course, I'm a bit jaded, so. >>;

OCs can definitely be tricky businesses. I wrote a fic not long ago where I needed several minor character OCs, because there was no one in canon who could fill those parts. They were all foreign diplomats, and a lot of them showed up a diplomatic meeting, were introduced, and then never heard from again. They were necessary for that one part of the fic, but turned out to of absolutely no use to the rest of it. It felt really awkward for me to do that though.
