Oh come on, fandom.
Disney isn't the devil just because only half of Aqua's back is gonna be exposed. Especially considering it was Nomura's idea to cover up her back, not Disney's.

A half a foot of fabric isn't the end of the world. Aqua's still the sexiest girl to grace the KH games.

new game rumors, disney-bashing

Where does that come from? Cause I've heard of that rumor, but even I'm a little confused as to why Nomura or even Disney Japan would make that decision considering both have a portfolio of characters that have their backs completely or half exposed.

People are seriously upset about the modifications to Aqua's outfit? :\

Aqua's still the sexiest girl to grace the KH games.

I'm pretty sure that when the fans started seeing pictures of Aqua they could literally hear "You Sexy Thing" playing in the background.

The same thing probably goes for when the fans first saw Terra.

Personally? I'm HAPPY they covered her up! I'm really tired of the slutty look for video game characters, and I'm already miffed by the fact that Aqua has little short shorts. At least they're giving her SOME dignity, christ.

This.

That is all.

Agreed as well. I guess it's not surprising seeing as how I'm a girl, but I've gotten tired of the very common practice of abusing perfectly respectable female characters as fanservice vectors very fast.

The new design still looks like it would realistically be impracticel be on a battle field, but can't be too picky there, I suppose. I guess it's better not to even start talking about realism when it comes to KH games. ^^;

And if she didn't cover up, they'll be calling her a slut.

No wait, I take that back. They'll be calling her a slut no matter what.

Yes, but these are (probably) two different factions of fans.

The ones who would complain about showing less skin are probably fanboys who are too lame to get real girlfriends.

The ones who would be calling her a slut are probably fangirls who hate all female characters anyway, regardless of state of dress. They might also be too crazy and/or self-hating to get real boyfriends.

I'm most baffled at it because come on, did no one see the original and go "...backless corset? Wtf? No, no fucking way."

The revision just looked like better character design to me.

The old one looked like it could, just, fall off right off. And it made no sense for a warrior to wear that.

I know it would be horribly boring if video game design was all about function and normal design over whacky aesthetics, but man, there are some times when you give into normal real-world physics. And in my book, backless corsets are just one of those times.

Not many of the earlier images I saw of her showed her back anyways, so I don't know why everyone got so hung up on the design. A few blurry screencaps from trailers and scans, yeah. It's not like they changed something that had been visible the whole time. How attached could fanboys have possibly gotten to the small of her back?
