It's smart marketing.

It's not like the games will be disappearing a few weeks after they're released. :O Everybody has all the time in the world to put aside money to save up for them.

It's not Squeenix's fault their pet console's successor is a flop.

The DS is one of the best selling platforms ever and the PSP is at least doing decently well. With the two, they'll be able to sell more.

It's simply good marketing, even if it sucks for us.

To be fair to Squeenix re: the PS2, their FF stuff was locked in to Sony for a while, if it's not still.

Marketing, smart marketing, amazing marketing, good business, money hungry, whatever--it's still fucking annoying either way you cut it :/

I'm not pissed they're all on different consoles. Maybe because I'm lucky enough to have brothers who get all the latest consoles, so we have a PSP and a DS when the time comes for the new stuff to be released, but not everyone is that lucky. "Save up/just ask for it for (*insert special occassion here*)" isn't that easy for some people (or the family and friends of those people, for that matter).

Not to mention, some people just aren't that hard of gamers and don't have a real need to buy hundred dollar consoles for two games, no matter how much you love it and play it over and over again. Kingdom Hearts is love, but realistically, I'm not saving up hundreds of dollars for two games and two new consoles that are suppose to hold us over to KHIII, where King Mickey only knows what console THAT'S coming out for :/

If Disney and Square are smart and have been paying attention, they'll put KH3 on the Wii. 'Cuz dayum! It owns the market right now and rightly so. The games I've played on it so far both rock and it's partly (mostly?) for the fun of the Wii's controls (got beaned with a controller playing the Homerun mini game in Sonic and the Secret Rings and laughed my ass off over it XD). I haven't been paying attention, so I don't know if Square's done anything for the Wii yet, though Chocobo Tales for the DS was fun. I mean, the final boss is a twisted air hockey game! 8D

I have a feeling that KH3 will probably end up on the PS3, to be honest, and it's my hope that that's the case. Square's big on the cutscenes and the graphics, so I feel like in those respects, to go to the Wii would be a downgrade.

On the one hand, it'd be damn fun to swing the Keyblade along with Sora assuming he's in KH3, which I will be hugely saddened if he is not. On the other, I don't know about the rest of you, but that'd get real tiring real fast after a while, IMO. Much easier to mash X and watch things drop dead than to try to follow combo patterns in the heat of battle.

But like I said, I get the feeling that in the case of the major titles of the series, they're probably going to go for graphic quality over gameplay. :/

I think the Wii has the graphics capability. But developers are having too much fun with the gameplay.

PRAISE YOUTUBE AND KH-VIDS.NET

Because everybody who knows me knows that the only game I played was CoM, and that I hated Re:CoM because I saw how much Nomura retconned in it.

Yeah. There's... three new games on the way? I'll be getting one since I already own that system. And I'll likely get the rest of the story from youtube.
