Demyx was just lying to buy time so he could get out of there without fighting or something. I don't believe he thought for a second that he actually had a heart, and if he did, it's only because he deluded himself into thinking that.

I still don't understand how anyone can think Demyx was dead serious...and right. :\

Yeah, I agree with lightningchan that Demyx was basically trying to fast-talk his way out of any fighting. More of a "hey, if they believe I really do have a heart, maybe they'll leave me alone!" kind of thing. Although word play could certainly be a part of it.

And Kingdom Hearts isn't cheese. Kingdom Hearts...IS PEOPLE! :OOO

Actually, I think what you've said is a possibility. The Final Fantasy people are pretty famous for big anvil-sized hints and wordplay, and though I'm sure they weren't behind every little thing in Kingdom Hearts, you never really know what a little influence can lead to.
