Okay. Post overload, but only because I'm bored.

Not really a rant, but as long as we're sharing opinions, it's alright, isn't it?

I'm starting to regret joining a certain yaoi community.

Herm.
Because of a certain meme, I've been tempted to do this.

Okay, everyone has their own unpopular opinions about the KH fandom.

I'll give you four of mine, you gimme four of yours.

Deal?

1. Riku has angst. Sora ( Read more... )

These are fun. My two four cents:

1. Axel did not somehow become more of a wimp or a different person between CoM and KH2. He's the same damn person, whether you like how he acts in KH2 or not.

2. I can see Leon/Tifa making more sense than Leon/Cloud.

3. No one Organization member is more OMG SUPER SPESHUL AWESOME than any of the others - they're all badass in their own ways. By the same token, the lesser appreciated ones (Xaldin, Lexaeus (NOT EVEN LISTED ON FF.NET OMGWTF), Vexen, and Luxord come to mind) are not automatically better than the popular ones just because they're unpopular. That's totally backward logic.

4. Even the most depressed character in the game, whoever that may be, isn't going to go cry in a corner and cut him/herself. Know why? Because Kingdom Hearts isn't emo. It's a freaking E-rated game. It's not a cover up for THESE WOUNDS [THAT] WILL NOT HEAL. These characters are obviously much better at dealing with life than some of their writers are. - . -

Re: 1. Yesyesyes thank you. ;___; CoM AXEL is not MAGICALLY different than, um, Axel in EVERY OTHER CANON APPEARANCE HE EVER MADE. Sorry.

Re: 2. Yes! And also... huh. I would totally read Leon/Tifa.

Also SIGNED to 3 and 4. *waves flags for just and fair treatment of characters -- and that does NOT mean favoritism just because something or someone is more or less popular*

1. I can't stand most sporkings, and I find badfic parodies even more unreadable than badfic itself. An author poking fun at something they love can amuse me endlessly, but authors poking at something they hate almost always leave a bad taste in my mouth in the same way that character- or fandom-bashing fics do.

2. Saix isn't crazy- or at least, not much more so than the majority of the Organization. Yes, his fighting style centers around feral lunatic rage (or emotionless facsimile therof), but canonically, it's completely deliberate feral rage. It's certainly a fun idea to play with and I've seen people do some marvelous things with the concept, but there's nothing in canon to support the idea that his bersekergang is anything but voluntary ( ... )

Word to your #3. I thought I was the only one that was still.. um... unhappy with DiZ. If someone rewrote my life and gave me false hopes and feelings, I'm pretty sure that "I'm sorry" wouldn't cut it for me.

but then he went and got himself blown up

1. I honestly believe that Marluxia is very much straight. (Crossover crack-pairings aside. Ahehe.)

2. I don't get Leon/Cloud one bit, and though I can enjoy well-written fic with them, I won't write for them.

3. I believe that the humanoid Nobodies can feel, to some extent, though the degree that they can varies between each Nobody.

4. Unless it is being satirized, I think OOCness is never, ever okay.

Re: 1. Lexaeus is so awesome I have no words for him. When ReCoM comes out he and Zexion should have a billion fanfics. They just. ARE. Married. And Demyx/Zexion is one of the less plausible examples of prettyshipping ever.

Re: 2. Yeeeeeeees. Also, I love Leon/Aerith, but you know what? In about three days I'm going to put up a holiday giftfic thing. Ask me for Aerith/Yuffie. I want to write it. I have wanted to write it for about five months.

My four unpopular opinions...

1. Riku is not a horny pervert, nor is he a sex god (in regards to the latter, stop confusing him with James Bond!). He's only sixteen in the second game and I doubt that he is going to know all the techniques and master at them by that age! That, and the fact that he's insecure will not make him a sex god ( ... )
