"Strange" and/or "Rare" pairings. We need more.
My question is simple:
Why does everyone insist on writing stories that revolve around three main pairings?
NEWSFLASH: There are more pairings that you could come up with besides Axel/Roxas, Sora/Riku or Sora/Kairi.
Granted, those seem to be the most common three and there are other reasonably popular ones.
But really, where is all the love for the "off the beaten path" pairings? What about SoRiKai? Riku/Roxas? Axel/Riku? Riku/Namine? Sora/Roxas? What about Sora/Axel? Even Roxas/Namine doesn't get much love!
And don't forget about the Twilight Town kids.
Hayner/Roxas? Hayner/Olette? Pence/Olette? Hell, even Hayner/Seifer could work!
Saying that "it would be impossible to work out in canon" doesn't quite cut it either. It wouldn't hurt anyone to be creative once in a while. Really, I promise! Even something as strange as Riku/Axel could work out if you tweak the story in the right places. D:
Just for once, I would love to see something, anything that's not already stereotypical, cliched and overdone to the point of banality.
