       All authors secretly wish to be royalty. For when you criticize an essayist, you've committed a 'literary marvel', while when you criticize royalty you've committed 'sedition', 'treason', and 'one way path to a probably barbaric death'.

true. When I worked with writers and editors I had to be very circumspect iF I were to make any suggestion regarding their writing.

They really do think they are writing for themselves.
