I've just recently lost my dear Luna, who was almost 16 years old and very special. She was vibrant and healthy until the very last year of her life, and even though she slowed down some, in was only in the last month that was truly "sick." I knew she'd had a long, good, life-- and we had a long time to say good-bye, but all the same, it hurt to see her pass and I still miss her. She's been with us SO long. Most of my adult life my Luna was there.

I know how you feel. People like us are lucky to have been so blessed for so long by such felines.

What a lucky cat to have had such a loving and patient home and family. Your outlook on this is wonderful. My own darling 16 year old Nika is slowing down as well. I've been thinking of her in much the same way and treasuring as much time with her as I can eke out. Our hearts will be fuller for our time with them. *hugs*
