I skate to where the puck is going to be," a Wayne Gretzky quote, and I explained to KFP that it has to do with anticipating what's going to happen. He pointed out that's a lot like what scientists do when they use the scientific method, and that inspired him to write this short piece.

Once there was a scientist. And he experimented with magnets. On one of the experiments, he was seeing if a magnet would stick to pencil metal. His prediction was that the magnet would stick to the pencil metal. He did the experiment, and the magnet did not stick to the pencil metal. He learned a lot from that experiment. He learned that the pencil metal was not magnetic.
