And on a sad note...

It appears that Leo Mol passed away on July 4th. Probably best known by Winnipegers for his work displayed in the Leo Mol sculpture garden at Assiniboine Park, he was quite a prolific sculptor.

I know I used the sculpture garden and attached English Garden for a lot of my summer photos, so it does make me a bit sad to know that Leo is gone.

I met him a few times. He randomly gave me a hug once. Really sweet guy. Did he ever finish his self bust to be displayed in the park bust row?

You know, that's something that I couldn't honestly tell you!

From everything I've been hearing on the radio he was an amazing guy, and apparently had a lot of things from his younger years that he didn't tell a lot of people (but were revealed to a filmographer doing a documentary); so from your post I wouldn't be surprised if very few others knew his wedding story.

The funny thing about both Leo Mol and Alex Colville is that I suffer the 6-degrees+1 of separation. Both people in my friends' families and my in-laws knew both these artists, and for what-ever reason I just never managed to meet them!
