Sketch cards

In response to a post made last month by amarafox I've now received my blank sketch-cards.

For those who do not know, these specific cards are being issued by Blue Line Art to a fund-raising auction for the American Cancer Society.  I'm pretty excited about the whole thing and think that I've got enough time to actually accomplish what I've set out!

Because I know I can't support everything (though I would love too) as I'll wear myself too thin both fiscally and in the support I can give, I've had to narrow down the organizations that I like to support.  I do always make exceptions, but right now the short list are Cancer Care (and by association the MAMRT), the Kidney Foundation, and Multiple Sclerosis.

Though colour me a bit cynical, but I am getting a bit tired of the massive push for "everything pink" breast cancer research.  Obviously I'm not against fighting breast cancer (my Grandma lived through it in the 60's), but personally I think the money should perhaps be directed to general cancer research which would benefit people with all types of cancer.  And if one did really want to make a difference in breast cancer research... just donate the money directly to the cancer care organisation... then they'll get 100% of what you donate instead of some micro-fraction that didn't get gobbled up in branding and marketing.

But I digress.

It's November, and I've got work to do!
