you said 'goodbye' and then turned away. i saw the desire in your eyes flickering before your bangs tossed in front of you last. the muscles in my arms corded, knowing that i could pull you in with one perfectly executed movement. but i knew i couldn't deal with the hate that would inevitably come afterwards.
my arms loosened as you fell into step with your other friends. friends that i don't mix with. never could. i kept hoping you'd give me one last look. one last, 'i love you'. but then again, i didn't say it, why should you?
