It starts the same for everyone, a heart beat that hasn't quite found its rhythm yet. Going twice as fast as the other heart it hears, the one that is a comforting echo that surrounds the bubble you start in.

I especially liked the description of the baby in the womb here, the idea that its heart is trying to find the right rhythm because it IS just about double the speed of the mother's, and becomes more typical after birth. I always found that fact a little frightening, actually.

I like to think of the heart beat finding its rhythm as a metaphor for us finding our way...
