I don't have HOPE. In fact, I quit using HOPE in 2000, and then lost my HOPE status in 2003 sometime, didn't really keep up with it during that time period, but I'm trying to get my HOPE back

I have personal feelings about scholarships and GPAs, and disagree with how it is all done... It should be like people like you, should get it no matter the GPA, since it sounds like you work so hard already as is! I hope you get HOPE! Great entry in how you went about it.
This scholarship is state funded from the state lottery and goes to everyone reguardless of need provided they maintain full time status and the GPA. The reason they have the GPA requirement is to weed out the people who are just killing time trying to get their MRS. degree(This is what I call girls who are only in college so they can marry a college graduate) I've received others that were need based that didn't care about the GPA. I'm okay with it being up to the donor/sponsor as to who can get the scholarship and why. It's just frustrating that those small points keep me from getting it, knowing I'm a good student and put forth the effort but outside influences affected how I did my work as a student. The trouble with being flexible on the GPA requirement and determining which students work hard and which don't is that it would require multiple interviews, interviews that honestly I often wouldn't have time to attend between my family, my school work, my football job, and other things.

You'd think they'd have some way of giving exceptions for people who are *so close*. I mean, if it was 2.9, that'd be one thing, but 2.96? Come on.
