:( I had heard about Jordan's illness but I had no idea he'd pass away like this. I only read the first half of his first book but I understand that he was well-loved.

He was! Oh god, it's really irritating since he had SO many plans for other books too!

And you should continue reading his work! Sure, at some places in WoT it gets VERY descriptive (some people may call it boring) but I find the way of building up what seems to be useless information only to reuse it later (in which part the people who HAVEN'T read through the book start wondering what is going on XD)

That is really sad! It is always hard to see talented people pass away and leave their work unfinished. I don't know him, but it reminds me of another person.

The writer of my long-time favourite DBZ yaoi fanfic died in car accident before she could finish this fanfic. She was the one who made me interested in fanfiction and sometimes I asked her for advice when I tried to write a story.

So I think I can relate to your feelings.

Ow, yeah. I didn't know him PERSONALLY, of course, but still... I really loved his work and now he's... yeah. It's very sad. He had planned books for up to 30 years more, and he didn't get farther than one and a half year...

It's really ironic since the disease was uncurable and only infects about 8 (of how many I don't know, but it was a rare thing) per year. Usually you get the median life expectancy to 4 years...

stupid diseases!
