Getting Short Stories Published

Today, I got an e-mailed acceptance of another of my short stories, The Rumpelstiltskin Retellings, this time at Les Bonne Fees. I'm particularly delighted, because this one is in an unusual format, and I wasn't sure if it appealed to anyone but me. It's to be published in January. Congratulations on your stories. I just joined livejournal and writing is a small passion of mine. It seems impossible to get published. I have something on lulu.com that never gets looked at. What is this new way you have of looking at your writing? Just curious. Sincerely, Aurelia

Thanks!

I think before, I was looking at my stories in the context of everything I'd read over many years. Clarion made me look at them more objectively, and in a more contemporary way, to see if they were something other people would want to read today. I became more conscious of readers.
