One of the many turf wars that radiologists fight nowadays is with the Ob/Gyn folks over who gets to perform (and, of course, bill for) prenatal ultrasounds. He clearly just felt threatened by your gorgeous manly physique, as he knew that his preggers wife was already contemplating how to escape him and run away with you.

It behoves us all to have as many well trained medical professions as possible; I don't want some clueless newbie doing medical procedures.

...maybe he's just a dick??

So what did you do?? Just silently walk out? Or stay? They shouldn't even give them the "if you don't mind" option. This guy's a resident, this is a teaching hospital, he's going to observe. Or you can figure out for yourself how to work the machine. And while you're at it, I'll show you a few other places you can examine with it.

Was he big hulking 'roid rage retard, or a skinny, insecure pansy-ass? Was his wife attractive? Did he "Marry up?"

All rather amusing, frankly.

Yeah, I left....didn't have much choice. It's a teaching hospital, but patients do have the right to decide who's involved in their care for whatever reasons they want. You just hope they're at least rational and polite about it. :-)

When I was an intern, every once in a great while the issue came up that a patient didn't want any residents or med students in the OR when they went under the knife. You had to defer to their wishes, although it tended to piss the attending surgeons off more than anyone since it meant fewer assistants to boss around.....
