Half an hour later Elley was standing on Kevin's doorstep with a fresh pot of her favorite chicken soup and a plate of fresh biscuits. A hot bowl of this would cure any disease - or at least that's what her mother used to say. Even if it didn't have the magical qualities to cure cancer, it would help ease the pain of the flu.
Elley knocked on Kevin's door, holding the container close for warmth.
Kevin was sweating. Like, more than he ever had in his life. He was roaming around in his boxers and socks and was extremely close to taking the socks off as well. Never had he felt like this before. His muscles ached all over his body even though he had no reason to be sore, and he was having trouble breathing out of his nose.
He slowly wobbled his way over from the couch to the door, which was only about a twenty foot walk, but it took him at least two minutes. As he opened the door and saw Elley standing on his doorstep with soup, he just about cried out of relief.
"You are amazing. Will you marry me?" he asked, only halfway kidding.
