Dear relative on facebook:

you're feeding your six month old baby chocolate cake? seriously? It was bad enough that she got solids at four months and now she gets chocolate cake?

I weep and sigh heavily. ...and feel a little nauseated. That's just... gross.

no love,
kettu

stupid people, food, facebook, family dysfunction, you can't be serious

We gave my daughter a tiny taste of carbonated water (no flavouring, just soda water) a week or two ago, at a little over 10 months. She made the funniest WTF face, then giggled, then asked for more, which we didn't give her. Normally she just drinks regular water or breastmilk. But she thought the bubbles were hilarious.

Coca-cola, however, is a different story. ugh.

Man. We gave Connor chocolate cake on his first birthday, but what's the excuse for giving a kid chocolate cake at six months?

GROSS.

I'll admit that Miranda has had an occasional (i.e. maybe three times) small taste of ice cream and the occasional (maybe 10 times) french fry, but she's almost ELEVEN months. She had nothing at all that wasn't healthy, and almost nothing non-organic, til she was about 9 months.

We're not super strict on no sugar, either, but we minimize it. And it helps that M would much rather eat berries or plums than junk food anyhow. Maybe because that's the default in our house.
