Okay i just gotta say HOLY SHEOT! That looks like a really beautiful movie. atleast as far as the CGI goes. I wish they coulda come up with a better name for the movie tho. The Legends of the Guardians sounds REALLLLLLLLY Generic, plus its gonna conflict with The Last Guardian which i think comes out at the end of this year AND it also reminds me of an old NES game i used to love called The Guardian Legend XD

They shoulda just gone with the name of the Book series (tho that name escapes me atm)

Still tho. ill check that out. I just hope its not all visuals and no substance like "9" was

That won't nearly be as confusing between the movie "9" and the movie "Nine" which came out within months of each other. :P

When me and my room mate went to see Alice in Wonderland here in Santa Cruz I saw this trailer and even though I was informed it was some book by the people sitting in front of me, and I was like "Owls wtf?!" the animation I saw in the rain scene when its bouncing off his feathers was truly amazing. The movie does look good, heart felt as you said too and the story promised to be interesting but the animation in this picture might be new cutting edge, kinda like avatar's natural plant environment scenes.

yeah i remember the trailers when I saw the movie as well. and since it was for the kiddies they showed all the other animations to come. Despicable Me (so so), Megamind (the bf wants to see it, I dunno why), shrek ever after (3rd one bombed, but I might give this one a chance) and the legend of the guardians. Yeah visually nice and nice how they didn't make the character designs of the owls toony. But for whatever reason it makes me think it'll be those types of movies where they hear about some great people, go and try and find them cause of whatever threat, and realize after their journey that THEY are actually those people. Still i'd watch it~

That's EXACTLY what I thought lol the heck?

If it wasn't for that song I don't think I would have had much interest in it until weeks later when people talk about it. But yeah, I'll have to check it out with my posse when it's out. Looks awesome!

I'm reading the books now, since I was curious to see what the story would be about.  Although the writing is simplistic, there's a LOT of good stuff in the books that would make for an awesome movie, and knowing the dark-epic tone and subject matter of the books, I feel a lot better about the choice of Zack Snyder as director.  And re-watching the trailer, I can pick out which characters are which, and I've gotta say the character designs are spot-on.  So although at first I was skeptical about a movie that looks like '300' with owls, now I'm pretty excited about it!
