The candle is for EVERYBODY. Is there anyone on my friends list who is not having a miserable last couple of days? Ugh! What's in retrograde, people?

Oh, BTW fleabear, I heard a rumor that it was your birthday! Happy b-day!

Pagan Reading Group last night: Dave and I showed up and found fleabear in the Barnes and Noble Starbucks. We waited for other people ( Read more... )

I was just talking about getting a copy of Triumph of the Moon because I'm interested in a very non-biased view of Gardner. Would you say that the book provides that? I found a copy on half.com, although I guess it would be too much to hope the Columbia public library has it, eh?

See ya on Saturday!!

PS: Those Philippa George books sound good. I may have to check those out at the bookstore.

They did once, but someone stole it. Argh...

Yeah, the section on Gardner is possible the best take on him I've ever seen. It's not "He was carrying on an ancient tradition handed down from the dawn of time," but it's also not "He was completely full of crap." Hutton talks a lot about where Gardner got his ideas and stuff. I actually finished the book with more respect for Gardner than I'd had before; I had previously thought he was mostly just a dirty old man. ;)

I was well enough to go to work yesterday, but feeling too blah to head out again. I'm sorry I missed the discussion! Hutton is one of my favorite, and most-recommended, authors. I just bought his book on Witches, Druids and King Arthur, in which he examines the relationships between myth, legend, history, and "what really happened".

I have a beautiful blank journal that I bought last year specifically to copy my Book of Shadows into. I've done 2 pages so far! (laughs ruefully)

*nods*

Like I said, I just know I wouldn't actually do it if I tried to handwrite it. LOL.

Don't feel bad for not going. When you're sick, the best thing to do is relax.

I left you a comment and now it has vanished? It went on here twice, so I deleted it once, and now both are gone? In the wise words of Eddie Izzard...Quoi?

Going to say I'd like to hear your thoughts on Triumph of the Moon, and also, those Philippa books sound interesting!

See ya Saturday!!

True. Back in junior high I used to glue fabric and lace and stuff onto photo albums to make them all cute--maybe I can see if I remember how to do it? :)

Egads, I need to call you!
