So my friend just called, and she landed two free tickets to the ACC tournament games tomorrow, which is when Maryland is playing...therefore I am so blowing off work tomorrow.
How did they do? The Huskies won some sort of tournament (I'm really an expert and right on top of college basketball). I raised my fist and yelled go Huskies at the rep from the UofW at the Alliance show today. She looked startled for a moment and yelled go Huskies back. That makes me a sort of participant in March madnes...doesn't it?
Unfortunately, Maryland didn't do very well--they lost the game I went to, thereby ensuring that they would *not* be selected to go to the NCAA tournament for the first time in 11 years. Instead they are in the NIT, which is the second tier tournament. Still, I remain a loyal fan, and have tickets to go see them tomorrow night in their first round NIT team. I'm just hoping we can win a game before the end of the season *g*.
But hey, now that I know you're a Huskies fan, I'll root for them in the NCAA :). (The tournament they won was the PAC-10 conference tournament, and they landed a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament, which is a pretty nice deal.)
Go Huskies!!!myriadworldsMarch 18 2005, 15:15:18 UTC
I heard this morning that they won against Montana. One more win and they are in the sweet sixteen. Despite that one public radio announcer reminded everyone that no 16th seat (or what ever low number they are) has ever beat a number one seat. So I guess the moral is enjoy it while it lasts.
