Aimee's talk is great! Thank you for posting about it. I think everyone who deals with children should watch the first 2 minutes 30 seconds.

I thought the comparison with Pamela Anderson was telling. Something people just don't think of as a prosthesis.

The starting point for such an eye wardrobe would be a pair of comfortably fitting prosthetics, from which silicone molds could be made. Assuming access to body-friendly acrylic casting resin, then the fun begins. Do you currently have any prosthetic eyes?

Yes, I have a pair of prostethic eyes, but they cost $3000 a pair to be made by a professional ocularist, and when I got the pair I currently have, I had to argue with him just to change my eye color because, according to him quote People will know. The fact that he felt I should keep my prosthetics strictly for passing just boggled my brain. I didn't try to explain to him about mirrorshades.

Wow, I had no idea they were so expensive! As for color choice, sounds like he could use some educating.

Didn't mention any legs with hooves. That would've been cool.

Or faun legs--those and a pair of horns would be a fun Halloween costume, or really, just for going out partying on a Satyrday night.

Hey Kestrel, the literary beer pieces are by Michael DeLuca. As well as being a good writer, he is our guru for all things beermaking, tech, breadmaking, and more! Here's his blog: http://mjd.joskinandlob.com/wordpress/

Cheers,
