Yet another reason why word verification sucks

So it was mildly annoying that I had to find Alexx to tell me the word verification while I was subscribing to deadjournal.com (okay, it was actually kind of funny, as I patiently waited between world of warcraft battles so he could move his eyes from his computer monitor to my laptop screen), but now it seems I can't even try to find out how much ( Read more... )

But, I could've sworn it was on tickebastard that had the button you could click next to the word verification that would allow a voice-verification thingy.

I know I saw it somewhere, dammit!

Reaaly? I'll try again tomorrow when I have more brain, thanks for the tip. I know some sites also claim that you can click for a spoken word but many times that feature seems to be broken when you actually try it. I can't figure out if that is more annoying or not or what it says about me that I consider a half-assed effort more annoying than no effort at all. Thanks again, babe.

You know, I just had a lengthy conversation with a game designer at my company explaining to him that the color-based puzzle he designed will be unsolvable by the 10% of our male players who are colorblind. And this guy (typically someone whose opinion I respect) basically responded with, "I don't care." Granted, our colorblind player will be playing cooperatively with about a half dozen other players who can help out, but still. This designer just didn't want to hear it and became very hostile the moment I mentioned accessibility.
