Campings & Bikings & Raftings, Oh My!

I'm wearing pants I wore on Friday. They smell of woodsmoke. This pleases me.

So, Friday, stentoriansista and I got in her car and drove out to Harper's Ferry for a weekend of being crunchy hippy granola types. To add to my reply to your comment on my LJ, if you're feeling really ambitious (and have the supplies to do it), there are primitive campsites along the C&O Towpath you can bike to. Talk about being just you and the (relative) wilderness! It's quite the awesome.

Similarly, there's a small, relatively unknown (and thus rarely full) campground along the towpath up a little ways from Harper's Ferry. It's the exit either right before or right after Sideling Hill, off I-68 in MD. There's a group campsite off to one side (where I've stayed before), and 10 or so regular campsites. Porta-potties, but no showers.
