Today is my one year anniversery of living in the UK. I hope the homesickness will lessen as time goes on. I don't think I would have been able to deal if I hadn't gone home to California at Thanksgiving. I'm so glad that I got to see my families again. It's hard to think how long I will have to wait to see them again. I wish they would come and ( Read more... )

My mom can't afford to come this year, and my sister kind of evades the question when I ask her.

Probably won't go back to Cali til xmas. Andrew wants to show me new places, as well. So we are probably going to go to France in the summer.

I hope it does lessen in time.

I know I'd feel the same way. It's why I've put Christopher off of finding jobs in London (even though he still keeps reminding me when he gets offers from recruiters).

Sometimes I think that it might be easier with someone there with you who is going through the same things. But then I think that it would just reinforce the homesickness. I don't know.

But I definitely wouldn't want to live in London. Way too crowded for me. And it's very expensive to live there. Andrew's company pays 3 times as much to people with the same job title as Andrew, in the London branch. And they wouldn't even be able to afford a house as big as ours. I think I would prefer a smaller city, that's a bit more laid back. Does he get any offers for Cardiff? *g*

Not sure about Cardiff ;) And we'd have to live way outside of London if we ever decided to move to the UK--even if it meant a long train ride for Christopher into town. It is ungodly expensive and with two kids, I'd want something smaller and safer, anyway.

I think it would be hard, no matter what but it might be something I'd be interested in doing in another year or two--when the kids are a wee bit older but not necessarily in school yet.
