I have a hard time staying caught up on LJ, because I actually want to read all the words, and I've seen a couple other people who have been away for awhile and trying to get caught up complaining about the same thing that has been bedeviling me: at some point LJ made it so you can only go back so far on your friends page. I think it is time based

Oofff, I had no idea that LJ had done that -- gah! I'm glad you found a work-around.

So sorry about your ankle, but glad the walk was otherwise lovely, and that you have latkes and cocoa and warm boyfriend in your life :)

I'm not 100% sure what you mean, but I don't think that's true...I've tested, and if I have it set to 20/page, I can go 140 entries back, and with it set to 50/page I can go 150 entries back, and the last entries are the same either way - one from the 29th, two from the 30th, and then some from the 2nd. But when I say it's not consistent - there's entries from the 30th and the 1st that don't show. Nor does it seem to matter what individuals have their pages set to (meaning, someone who has their LJ set to show 20 entries per page doesn't seem to 'last longer' than those who have it set to 10.) Nor how many entries they've posted since then. It's completely mysterious.

I think I know what he's saying, but I'm here often enough, and people post rarely enough, it hasn't been an issue.

Using calender view for specific people would also work.
