August wrap-up

Ok, I sit down to write an entry and then I end up having much more to say so it doesn't get finished and I come back later and more stuff has happened so I add that and it *still* doesn't get finished and paging Zeno, we have a problem.  Eventually all the wording is so out of date ('last weekend', 'the beginning of this month', etc.) that I have

BRB means you'll make another post in 2-3 weeks right? lol (yes I'm badgering you!). and I feel very envious of your tomatoes because I really missed growing them this year (the back yard is currently toxic due to some demolition and building back there).

And I was, similarly, not over the moon about GotG. It just didn't have the emotional resonance for me that CA:Winter Soldier did. I really feel like that movie set the bar for superhero movies. Guardians was fun and I had a few laughs but I don't need to re-watch it.

I've been trying to get better about short posts, myself. Like, "Not all the things that happened on one day need to go in one post. If I go to two different events in one day, they can be two separate posts."

Along with that goes the idea that a post can be only 1 or 2 paragraphs long, if that's all that's needed.

Looking at my journal will show you that I'm only sort-of succeeding at this.

I'm so jealous you have tomatoes! Mine are still green; don't know if they're going to ripen this year.

Oh God. GISHWHES. I was helping former college roomie's family move and the move happened during the same time. Roomie is a sweet soul, but also highly distractable. So you can imagine how many conflicts she had with her mother about whether she needed to do something moving-related or scavenger hunt related at any given time x.
